Whoppers

There is immense freedom in not having
a reputation to protect. Always analyzing
everything because you’re this or that is
an itsy bitsy life, even if everybody thinks
you’re a big shot. Better to stop now before
the kids move out or you find a lump or worse.
Return again to your forgotten love – you.
There’s nothing to defend there, never was.
We need more whoppers, people who bet they
are ample for the day simply by being themselves
(this of course in a not too dramatic way).
The ones who love you have always wished for
you something more; this is what that is.
